From the first beat, it was evident that Silvana Imam had not come to entertain, but to engage. Her lyrics, charged with political and personal significance, were delivered with an intensity that made the audience listen -- really listen.
Songs from her latest album faith were performed with a raw honesty that made them even more concerning live. “En Gångt Till” and “Likbil” stood as highlights where her ability to combine the poetic with the political in earnest stepped forward.
The Imam managed to create a sense of community in the hall. She spoke directly to the audience, sharing personal reflections and inviting reflection. It was an intimate experience, despite the energetic and at times confrontational tone.
Musically, the concert was tightly choreographed but never predictable. The beats were heavy, the production minimalist, and her flow effortless. It was a demonstration of how hip-hop can be both art and activism.
And so what?
Silvana Imam proved in Little VEGA that music can be more than entertainment — it can be a force that challenges, inspires and brings together.
